Ye are cursed with a curse:
for ye have robbed me,
even this whole nation.
MALACHI 3:9

Misfortune, evil or doom is the epitaph for a world without God but curses can also befall the true believer as well.  Many Christians think that being saved they will also be blessed while on Earth but that’s not even close to Bible truth.

Being a Christ follower in this world is difficult enough without having a curse, but the Word teaches that misfortunes, evil and even doom can befall the ones whose God is the Lord, His Holy people of both Old and New Testaments alike.

God’s people of the Old Testament were called Jews and since the Lord is the SAME yesterday, and today and forever, we must affirm in spirit that God never changes; He’s consistent - day in, day out.  That’s confirmed by Malachi 3:6 & Hebrews 13:8. All believers must also acknowledge that His constant physical and spiritual-laws also apply equally well to His Old and New Testament faithful and unfaithful too.

People of any past historical period made choices during their lifetimes; some good and some not-so-good, but options still the same.  One of the largest of human error is that good people go to heaven and only the bad go to Hell.  The truth is that to escape the judgments and curses of this life and the hereafter too, good choices must be made with God’s salvation on this earth.

Jesus the Living Word came to this earth over 2000 years ago and He walked this earth 33 and a half years. A few believe what the New Testament writes about the Word which became Flesh and dwelt among us (John 1:14) while all too many don't.  That’s one very big choice believers and unbelievers make in their lives and eternity hinges on that one super important-option of life or death (John 3:16).

One curse that follows the unbelieving is their non-acceptance of Jesus and His finished work on Calvary’s Cross when He died for all the sins of mankind - once for every one of them.  Those who believe are saved and those who reject God’s wisdom will be cursed. (John 3:18)  Accepting JESUS and His finished work on the Cross extends salvation to everyone who makes that profession of faith; A FREE GIFT and one we could not merit without JESUS. (Eph. 2:8,9)

To be saved from Hell’s torments for unbelief is a wonderful gift from the Lord when accepted by faith, but being saved is only the beginning and a curse can still befall the saved unless they do what the Lord requires from believers!

CAN A MAN ROB GOD?

The answer is YES and sadly most believers rob from the Lord God consistently.  The first 10% of a believers’ increase is called “first fruits” (Deuteronomy 14:22). The First Fruit of a family’s income belongs to God throughout every generation; it’s called "Tithing” or 10%" and that first fruit applies to believers, Old and New Testament faithful alike.  If believers refuse to tithe, in essence they’re robbing from God and fall under a horrendous curse.

THIS IS NOT A LOSS OF SALVATION but loss of the many blessings God’s Holy Old and New Testament people could possess!  Here’s God’s Remedy and His blessings for everyone who has the faith to tithe and receive them:

Bring ye all the tithes into
the storehouse, that there
may be meat in mine house,
and prove me now herewith,
saith the Lord of hosts, if I will
not open you the windows
of heaven, and pour you out a
blessing that there shall not
be room enough to receive it.
MALACHI 3:10

If that wasn’t enough blessings for just giving God what He’s due, verse eleven promises that the Lord God Almighty will REBUKE THE DEVOURER FOR OUR CAUSE!  Next to salvation of the human soul, having the Devil divinely bound from tearing us apart is awesome.  Yet, of the Lord’s people only a few actually give God His First Fruit Tithes of their increase, but then again, only a few are being blessed today!

Our house has a saying, “we would never not tithe” because we’ve seen the great and wonderful miracles God has blessed us with by acting upon our faith in Him and He continues to pour out those blessings.  Talk about having our income stretched?  WOW!  Every time we go shopping even in a bad economy, the items we want are always discounted and we’ve never had a late mortgage payment.  Having God rebuke Satan from interferring is a super blessing which allows us to appreciate a greater spiritual-prosperity.

Malachi 3:8-11 applies to every believer who will exercise enough faith to reach out to our Lord, do as GOD asks and then receive it by faith.  It IS NOT just for Old Testament Israel that can receive the blessings because it applies to the New Testament Christian just as strongly.

We’ve heard of a pastor who had a church where most of his parishioners were not faithful with their tithing! He made an agreement with them that if they'd take a leap of faith and drop their 10% in the offering plate with their names on the envelope, then at the end of 3 months, he would refund 100% of their tithes if they hadn’t received more blessings than ever before in their lives.  NOTE: There wasn’t one who asked that pastor for the refund!

This is a true story and only requires a step of faith to receive it.  If you’ve never asked Jesus Christ into your life, do it now?  Say these simple words below and you’ll receive the LORD’s blessing of salvation - eternal life with God forever!   Once you accept Christ, you can then open the Blessings for Tithing by a step of faith in doing it weekly, and the blessings will apply, IF YOU DO IT!

DEAR GOD IN HEAVEN,

I AM A SINNER BUT I BELIEVE,  BY FAITH,
THAT JESUS DIED FOR SINNERS LIKE ME.
I ASK YOU TO FORGIVE ALL MY SINS, TO
CLEAN UP MY LIFE AND TO PROTECT ME FROM
THE EVIL TO COME!  I ASK THIS IN THE
PRECIOUS NAME OF JESUS.  AMEN.
